How To Make Beef Steak Salad

Sliced beef steak served over romaine salad.Pan fried steak with fresh ingredients such as julienned carrots, sliced onions, fresh tomatoes, then dressed with soy sauce, brown sugar and my special home made hot chili oil sauce. I love Thai salad and that inspired me to create this sweet and spicy dish. Serve them over the baby romaine, fresh spinach leaves, romaine lettuce or just plain bed of rice, drizzle with some sesame oil. You may garnish with chopped walnuts or fresh cut pineapple. Very flavoful dish and healthy choice. Cook them in less than 45 minutes and you have lunch or dinner in no time.

How To Make Beef Salad 

Ingredients:
1/2 lb beef - top sirloin, sliced thin
1 cup carrots - cut in julienne strips
1/4 cup sliced onions
1/2 inch ginger - crushed and chopped (optional)
1/4 cup chopped tomatoes
1 tbsp soy sauce Alternative: Fish sauce
1 tbsp brown sugar
dash of salt
1-2 tbsp water
1 tbsp Ground All Spice
1/2 tsb hot chili oil or 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes
1 tspn rice vinegar
1 tbsp olive oil
1 small bag of baby romaine or salad of your choice

Directions:
1. Heat the pan to high heat.
2. Add the olive oil.
3. Add the beef, stir and cook until brown.
4. Push the meat on the side.
5. Add the onions.
6. Add the ginger. I put optional as some people doesn't like ginger.
7. Add the tomatoes. Stir lightly.
8. Add the carrots. Turn the heat up if needed. Always cook on high heat with stir fry.
9. Add the ground all spice.
10. Add the brown sugar and stir lightly.
11. Add the salt.
12. Add the water.
13. Cook until sauce thickens.
14. Add the hot chili oil in the middle of the pan and stir lightly.
15. Cook for additional one minute in high heat.
16. Prepare the salad in the plate.
17. Scoop the dish and place on top of the salad.
18. You may garnish with slice of lemon or slice of red onions or garnish with chopped walnuts or cut pine apple. Serve hot or cold. They taste great over a bed of rice too.

How to make Turkey Sandwich

Make turkey sandwich made with panseared  turkey cutlets, fried bacon and mushroom sandwich with melted cheese.  The power of bacon, cheese, mushroom turned the fresh turkey breast that were pan fried with special seasonings into an awesome sandwich. Topped with few slices of red onions and slices of fresh tomatoes, just right.. Thanks to McDonalds CBO, it gave me an idea to make my own TBCM. Enjoy and cook to your delight.




Made of fresh turkey cutlets, seasoned with my favorite ingredients, cooked with  the right temperature, topped with few slices of thin red onions and fresh tomatoes and you are set to go for a healthy lunch, breakfast or dinner. 

Ingredients:

5 oz Fresh Turkey Cutlet -butterflied or slice to 2
1 button of baby bellas mushroom
1 slice of bacon
1-2 slice of tomatoes
few thin slices of red onion
1/2 tsp no-salt steak seasoning
pinch of chicken seasoning
2 tbsp butter, 2 tbsp grated cheese
2 slice multi grain bread or your choice
Dash of Freshly ground pepper
1 tbsp Olive oil.

How To Cook Asparagus with Bacon and Mushroom

http://mercifulg.blogspot.com/ Quick and easy dish made with  Bacon and Asparagus. Light meal cooked with fresh with few asparagus, mushroom topped with bite size fried, crunchy bacon. I like it.Quick and easy meal. Very few ingredients, yet appetizing.

Ingredients:

6 pieces of Baby Asparagus
3 pieces of bacon
1/4 quarter of medium size tomato
1 button Mushroom - Baby bellas
Dash of Texas Pete Sauce
1/4 tsp of All Steak seasoning
Dash of Ground pepper
1 tsp Olive oil
Brown sesame seeds - optional
Directions:
1. Cut the asparagus top, set aside. Peel the hard bottom part downward. Cut  into bite size pieces.
2. Slice the tomatoes.
3. Slice the baby bella mushroom.
4. Fry the bacon and seasoned with no-salt steak seasoning.
5. Drain the fat.
6. Cut into bite size pieces.

1. Heat the pan to high heat and put a teaspoon of olive oil
2. Add the mushroom to saute. Stir lightly for 15 seconds.
3. Add the bottom part of the asparagus.
4. Add the tomatoes.
5. Add the top portion of the asparagus.
6. Stir lightly for one minute.
7. Add a dash of hot sauce and pepper.
8. Stir for less than 30 seconds
9. Put in a plate and topped with cooked bacon

How To Make Beef Taco

Mix the seasoning such as  McCormick's, add some salsa to the ground beef, cook for few minutes, prepare the lettuce, tomatoes and cheese, bake or fry the taco shells and you are set to eat.






Easy and affordable dish for small or big crowds. Mix the commercial brand seasoning such as  McCormick's to my favorite one and some salsa to the ground beef, cook for few minutes, prepare the lettuce, tomatoes and cheese and you are set to eat.

Ingredients:
1/2 lb lean ground beef
1 clove garlic - crushed and chopped
1/2 tsp hot sauce
1/2 tsp Steak seasoning - no salt. I use Ralph's brand 
6 tbsp cooking oil
dash of ground pepper
1/3 cup water (optional)
1 cup shredded lettuce
1 cup chopped and diced fresh tomatoes
1 cup shredded cheese
1/2 cup salsa
3 or more taco shells
Directions:
1. Heat the pan over high heat and saute the garlic until brown.  Remove the cooked garlic.
2. Turn the heat to medium heat and place the ground beef in the pan, cook until brown.  Break them up into tiny pieces. You may add the water as this helps breaking them down. If you prefer fine ground beef, use a food processor. Drain the fat and discard.
3. Add the hot sauce, steak seasoning, ground pepper, salsa and the taco seasoning.  
4.  Stir to blend all the ingredients.  Mix until well blended.
5. Turn heat to low to keep it warm before serving.

How to cook the taco shells.

1. Heat the pan over high heat.
2. Add the oil.
3. Slowly dip the shell into the hot oil and cook each side for 10-15 seconds.
4. Drain in the pan, then place in a piece of paper towel. Click if you want baked taco shells.

How to layer the taco:

It is always your choice on how you want your taco done, but here's how I dress mine.

1. Add the cooked ground meat.
2. Add the shredded lettuce.
3. Add the diced tomatoes.
4. Add the grated cheese.
5. Add the salsa.
6. Add other toppings of your choice - sour cream, avocado, hot sauce, etc.

Peppery Chicken

 

Ingredients


1/2 lb chicken breast strips - slice to bite size
2 inches of turkey smoked sausage - slice to bite size
2 cloves garlic - crush then finely chop
1/2 of small yellow onions - chop in quarters
1/2 cup of mixed red and green bell peppers
1/4 tsp. freshly ground pepper

1 tsp of crushed red pepper flakes
1 chicken bouillon seasoning -
1/2 cup water
1 tsp rice wine vinegar
1 tbsp fish sauce
1 tbsp olive oil
1 stalk of green onion - chopped finely

How to cook chicken noodle soup or the Filipino Sopas

Inexpensive meal. Easy to find ingredients cook until the pasta are soft and soup is creamy and when it's ready, serve with some rolls, crackers or toasts. Topped with scallions or green onions. Try it and learn how to make your own soup.Soup for the winter or any day. Made with shell and sphagetti pastas. Low fat, low sodium, yet delicious. Inexpensive meal as ingredients I used were from Kraft Macaroni and Cheese box, and few sphagetti strands saute with two strips of chicken breast, canned broth and dry chicken seasoning, with littel bokchoy, carrots and few mushrooms, let it cook to al dente and it's ready.  Great when topped with scallions or green onions.

How To Cook Beef Stew - Filipino Caldereta - American Beef Stew

Famous dish in the Philippines but usually made with goat meat. You can use the pressure cooker to have it ready in no time.   If you like spicy with rich flavor, try this one. 

Ingredients: 
1 lb beef stew meat, for this dish  I used the pot
roast meat
3 cloves garlic
1/2 cup onions, cut in cubes
1/2 can  of stewed tomatoes
1 carrot -chopped
4 small red potatoes, peeled
2 inch turkey sausage, sliced
1/2 cup of mixed fresh and frozen sliced peppers
1/4 cup peas
green beans - handful of frozen
6 tsp of Mama Sita's seasoning dissolved
in 1 cup water
3 bay leaves
1 tbsp of sweet yellow raisins
pinch of all spice ground
1 tsp of No salt steak seasoning - my fav
pinch of pepper flakes
2 tsb of freshly ground pepper
1/2 tsp of whole black pepper
2 tbsp of red wine - Lambrusco Riunite

Directions:
  1.  Fry the beef, until brown on both sides. Season with no salt steak seasoning.
  2.  Slice the beef into quarters, remove the fat and discard.
  3.  Fry the garlic, onions, sausage and carrots.
  4. Stir.
  5. Push the vegetables on the side to create a hole or space in the middle of the pan.
  6. Add the chopped meat.
  7. Once meat are brown, add the mixture of Mama Sita's seasoning
  8. Stir, cover and simmer for 45 minutes or until the meat are tender.
  9. Turn the heat up, about 425-450 degrees high. Add the bell peppers.
  10. Add the Reunite, Lambrusco red wine.
  11. Add the Sun Maid golden raisins. ( This is optional but taste great with it.) Other brand will work too.
  12. Add the 1/2 tsp of whole black pepper.
  13. Add the bay leaves, all spice ground seasoning.
  14. Add the red pepper flakes. Stir.
  15. Add the peas and the green beans.
  16. Cook for additional five minutes.
  17. Remove the bay leaves.
  18. Serve.  Serve over bed of rice or with baked potato and a roll.
Great when left overnight or as left-overs.  Eat with wine or beer as appetizers.  Frozen vegetables works great also. There are no salt added as  Mama Sita's seasoning has salt on it already.

How To Make Turkey Sausage Omelette with Egg Beaters




Ingredients:

1/4 cup of Egg Beaters Southwestern Style
1 tbsp turkey sausage - fried and chopped
1 tbsp red onions -chopped and diced
1 tbsp - bell peppers -chopped and diced
1 tbsp -  veggie cheese
dash of salt and pepper
dash of steak seasoning
1 tbsp cooking oil
Cook the turkey sausage by boiling them
in 1/2 cup water, rinse, and fry with oil
season with steak seasoning, my favorite
spices.
I boil and rinse to get rid of extra salt.


 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Instructions:

  1. Heat the pan to mid-heat. 
  2. Pour the oil into the pan and add the egg beaters.
  3. Add the sausage, onions, bell peppers once egg are half-way done.
  4. Add dash of freshly ground pepper and salt.
  5. Sprinkle with the steak seasoning.Carefully fold and cook for 3-5  minutes each side.
  6. Top with the cheese.
  7. Serve hot with hash browns, more sausage as side dish and  toasts.
 Fry some hash browns as side dish. I added some red onions on grated potatoes, squeeze the liquid and drain, then season with salt and pepper and fry in hot oil. Drain in paper towel then serve.

How to cook Turkey Chopsuey and Turkey steak

Eat something healthy today. Try my Filipino version of chopsuey but made with few slices of turkey breast meat and serve along with turkey cutlets, cooked like a regular steak.

Ingredients:

Sliced turkey breast (cutlets)  8 oz.
1/2 cup shrimps
1 clove garlic
1/4 quarter onions - sliced
1/4 cup carrots - sliced
1/4 cup celery, green beans, bella mushrooms
-sliced
1/4 cup brocolli
1/4 cup red or green bell peppers
1/2 cup bokchoy -sliced
salt and pepper
1/4 tsp fish sauce
Steak seasoning
1/4 cup bamboo shoots (canned
works)
1/4 cup baby corn ( cut into bite
size)
1-2 tbsp cornstarch dissolved in
small amount of chicken
broth
1 tbsp cooking oil.

Shrimp Tempura using Panko served with Potato Fries

How to make shrimp tempura using the Progresso crispy bread crumbs named "Panko." 

After sending my input to one of Progresso's product, I received some coupons as complements and one of their products is the Crispy Bread crumbs called Panko.The picture on the product looks enticing, so I will try them with my shrimps rather than fish.  .... True Definition of panko

MercifulG's Knock-Out Bread Shrimp ( Panko Shrimp)

Ingredients:

4 Jumbo shrimps = 1/2 lb jumbo shrimp -
1/4 cup stone ground cornmeal
Salt and freshly ground pepper
1 egg, beaten
3 tbsp Cooking oil- Olive or Canola oil
Dash of Nori Komi Furikake Rice Seasoning (optional) try to locate in Oriental or International grocery stores

Directions:
1. Mix the cornmeal, salt, ground pepper and dash of Nori komi Furikake Rice Seasoning.
2. Coat the clean and deveined shrimps with stone ground cornmeal mix.
3. Dip in beaten egg.
4. Coat with Panko bread crumbs.
5. Heat oil over medium heat.
6. Place the non-stick pan.
7. Place the shrimps in the hot pan 2-4 minutes on each side or until brown.
8. Drain in paper towel.
9. Serve hot.... with MercifulG's potato fries, and salad.


MercifulG's potato fries:

Ingredients:
2 small Potatoes - I prefer the red ones. - Cut into quarters
1 tbsp cooking oil
Dash of Italian seasoning
Dash of Steak seasoning
Dash of Lawry's seasoned salt



Directions:
1.  Heat oil over medium heat.
2.  Drop the potatoes.
3. Sprinkle with  Italian seasonings.
4. Sprinkle with steak seasonings, and dash of salt and pepper.
5. Fry until brown. Tip: Turn the heat settings to low or 225 degree heat and cook until well done.

Fried Pork with Tamarind Soup Seasoning - Pritong Baboy


Normally, the seasonings are for soup but I like them plain with the fried pork.  The seasoning is worth the money when you buy them in any Oriental store or International grocery stores. Great for soup and of course, great for my fried pork too!  Try it on broiled meat and not just fried.  It is healthier after all.

Ingredients:
1 lb Pork Seasoning - strips of pork
3 cloves of garlic - crushed
1/4 cup of onion -sliced
1 inch fresh ginger - crushed or sliced.
2 tbsp cooking oil
1 packet of Knorr or Mama Sita's Tamarind Soup mix

How To Cook Fried Pork or Pritong Baboy with Tamarind Seasonings


Directions:
1. Heat the frying pan - 375 degrees2. Fry the garlic, onion and ginger.
3. Remove and discard the garlic, onion and ginger once browned.
4. Carefully place the pork in the frying pan. Cover as oil might splatter.
5. Season with the Tamarind soup mix.  I put about 1-2 tbsp on each side.
6.Turn the heat to low,about 225 heat cook for additional 5-10 minutes, keep turning each side as it turns brown.
7. Serve hot with rice and hot sauce if you prefer.

Pan Fried Steak with Portabella Mushrooms

Pan Fried Steak with Baby Bella Mushrooms How to cook pan fried steak with baby bella mushrooms and spring onions on the side. Four oz of steak, seasoned with my favorite steak seasonings, fried in sizzling hot pan then seasoned with garlic. Added some of my home made hot chili oil,  dash of ground pepper, some soy sauce, red pepper flakes and wow! I have my steak ready in less than 10 minutes,  On this video I cooked and served with half of sweet potato, topped with some butter, brown sugar and ground cinnamon which I cooked via microwave for few minutes.You can serve with  baked potatoes or fries or fried riceVery quick meal to cook and turned out tasty with the same ingredients I used on my other recipes that you will find on this site.


Preparation Time: 5 minutes
Cooking Time: 7-10 minutes
How many servings: 1

Ingredients: 
4 oz steak - I bought top loin worth $2.00 for .70 oz - Season with steak seasoning
1 clove garlic - crushed
3 spring onions - chopped one inch
4 buttons of Baby Bella mushrooms - chopped into 4 quarters
1 tsp of my hot chili sauce or 1/2 tsp of red pepper flakes (more if you want)
Freshly ground pepper
Steak seasoning -your choice
2 tbsp cooking oil - olive oil or canola
1/4 tsp of soy sauce

Directions:
1. Turn burner on to 375 degree heat and set the frying pan on top.
2. Put oil in the pan and once hot, drop the garlic, fry and stir - remove after it turned brown.  I just want the flavor of garlic in the pan.
3. Drop the steak and fry two minutes on each side.  Hear the sizzle?  Smells good too.
4. Push the steak on the side of the pan . Fry the green onions and mushrooms on the side for 30 seconds
5. Add the hot chili sauce. Stir for few seconds
6. Add the soy sauce and freshly ground pepper. Stir.
7. Serve the steak on one side of the plate and serve the mushrooms and onions on one side.

For additional side dish

Ingredients: 
1 Sweet potato
2 tsp of dark brown sugar
2 tsp of butter
Dash of ground cinnamon

How to cook the sweet potato:
Microwave for 2 minutes, add 1 more minute if necessary.
Slice, add the butter, top with brown sugar. Slice the middle so the sugar and butter penetrate the potato.
Sprinkle the cinnamon.

Since it's for my only serving, I served just half for me.
I finished the cooking, eating and watched the end of tonight's Voice episode. That's what I call multi-tasking!

Tip: Clean as you go not eat as you go. Actually, drink wine as you go, no? Watch TV as you go? Surf as you go. That's it! I love my the dishwasher, the simple oven, that TV, and that running water, paper towels to clean-up and Clorox to sanitize. Enjoy what you do and eat what you love.  Love to live, live to love.
